San Remo 2020: Results of the first night

Veteran Italian contest started tonight with the first show where we meet the first half of each category in the competition: Campioni (artists with a musical career) and Nuove Proposte (new artists).

Amadeus (Amedeo Sebastiani), well-known TV and radio presenter, hosted the shows from the Teatro Ariston in the Italian city. The show had some guest artists as Fiorello, Tiziano Ferro, Salmo, Rossi Stuart, Favino, Emma Marrone (Italy 2014) and the veteran Italian duet Romina & Albano.

Twelve participants of Campioni after sing their songs were evaluated by a demoscopic jury, unveiled their votes when the show ended:

• Le Vibrazioni - “Dov’è”
• Elodie - “Andromeda”
• Diodato - “Fai rumore”
• Irene Grandi - “Finalmente io”
• Marco Masini - “Il Confronto”
• Alberto Urso - “Il sole a est”
• Raphael Gualazzi - “Carioca”
• Anastasio - “Rosso di rabbia”
• Achille Lauro - “Me ne frego”
• Rita Pavone - “Niente (Resilienza 74)”
• Riki - “Lo sappiamo entrambi”
• Bugo & Morgan - “Sincero”

Four participants of Nuove Proposte competed in two duels, and the winner each duel advanced to the semi-finals on Thursday:


Duelo 1:

• Eugenio in via di Gioia - “Tsunami” (49%)
• Tecla Insolia - “8 Marzo” (50,6%)

Duelo 2:

• Leo Gassmann - “Va bene così” (54%)
• Fadi - “Due noi” (46%)

Semi-finalists:

• Tecla Insolia - “8 Marzo”
• Leo Gassmann - “Va bene così”

Raphael Gualazzi, Italian representative in Eurovision 2011, and participant in Campioni, was seventh.
